When I was a tyke, my mom would go all out to decorate for the holidays. She stockpiled gourds and baskets galore, not to mention boxes upon boxes of ornaments and bows. But other than making homemade costumes, I think Halloween decor just wasn't her thing. Fast forward a bunch of years, and I found myself in a magazine job that required some major brainstorming for the spooky season. One topic we never neglected: the front door. It's the first thing neighbors and visitors see, and what you choose to display paints an instant picture of who you are and what you like. On a recent walk to the coffee shop, I passed a slew of scenes within a few blocks of our place. So in honor of All Hallow's Eve, I'm sharing those that stood out, for better or for worse. I'll leave the judgement up to you.
